Baseball Recap: Harvester Christian Academy Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Harvester Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Saints. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-0 back in March.

Lleyton Tsai and Greg Stoeckig made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Tsai tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Stoeckig didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Tsai has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Tsai got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double, while Stoeckig scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Stoeckig has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Zade Dunlap was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Auston Young was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base.

Harvester Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Looking ahead, Harvester Christian Academy will take on Cherokee Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Covenant Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th.
