Basketball Recap: Northeast Takes a Loss

Northeast played a tough match on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Central Lancers, falling 48-21. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now lost six in a row.

Leading Central to victory were Sofia Meer and Stevie Hall. Meer dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Hall went 6 for 14 on her way to 16 points. Hall is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last three games she's played. Janai Bellinger was another key player, putting up four points and eight boards.

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Northeast has already played their next game, a 51-13 defeat against Frankford on the 23rd. As for Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 62-12 win against Mastery Charter North - Pickett on the 27th.
