Basketball Recap: Mayfair Comes Up Short

Mayfair was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 60-34 to the Temple City Rams. The Monsoons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2019.

Alexis Yoshimura was a one-woman wrecking crew for Temple City as she went 9 for 14 from beyond the arc on her way to 31 points and three steals. Those 31 points gave Yoshimura a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abigail Yoshimura, who posted eight points and five steals.

Mayfair's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Temple City, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mayfair will host Gahr at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Temple City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blair at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Temple City is facing Blair at the right time seeing as Blair is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
