Softball Recap: Syracuse Takes a Loss

Syracuse is still winless after their contest against Freeman on Saturday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Falcons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rockets have suffered since August 27, 2024.

Mayson Sprague made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Jade Campbell, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Syracuse's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Freeman, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Syracuse wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-1 victory against Cass on the 30th. As for Freeman, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Auburn on the 30th.
