Woodland had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cartersville Hurricanes a 2-0 shutout on Friday. That's more bragging rights for Woodland, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Aiden Carrillo and Connor Henderson scored both of Woodland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Woodland's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Cartersville, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Woodland will venture away from home to take on Gordon Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cartersville, they will take on Model at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Model will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Cartersville surely won't give up without a fight.
