Softball Recap: Sonoraville Extends Winning Streak to Four

Sonoraville waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Ringgold Tigers. The Phoenix's pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four matchups.

Lila Mullinax looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Sonoraville's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Angel, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Sonoraville's record is now 23-5. As for Ringgold, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Sonoraville will challenge LaFayette at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Phoenix 1.1, the Ramblers 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Ringgold, they will face off against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
