Soccer Recap: Marion Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Marion and Poplar Bluff, and Poplar Bluff kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats came up short against the Mules on Saturday, falling 3-0. Marion were not able to make up for their defeat to Poplar Bluff from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.

Marion has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Poplar Bluff, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Marion is taking a road trip to take on Vienna/Goreville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Poplar Bluff, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carbondale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carbondale will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Poplar Bluff surely won't give up without a fight.
