Basketball Game Preview: Wilmington Greyhounds vs. Eisenhower Knights

The Wilmington Greyhounds will venture away from home to challenge the Eisenhower Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Wilmington heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Wednesday. They took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lakeview.

Meanwhile, Eisenhower ended up a good deal behind Kennedy Catholic on Wednesday and lost 57-42. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Kennedy Catholic are ranked 71st).

Wilmington will need to focus on slowing down Clara Steinberg, one of several Eisenhower players who made an impact when they last played. She shot 47% from the field on her way to 17 points. That was a full 40.5% of Eisenhower's points, marking the 22nd time in a row Steinberg has posted more than a third of the team's points. Laney Belcher was another key player, putting up nine points.

Even though they lost, Eisenhower was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their third loss (out of 20 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Eisenhower's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Wilmington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-4 record this season.
