Homestead and Whitefish Bay are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Highlanders will take on the Blue Dukes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Homestead is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Waukesha North just ended the team's seven-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Northstars.

The 3-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Homestead lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 16-25, 25-23.

Homestead's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lauren Fitzgibbon, who had 25 digs, and Kennedy Klueger, who had ten digs and one assist. Olivia Kormanik also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Whitefish Bay not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Milwaukee Lutheran with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Dukes.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Whitefish Bay took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-7, 25-13.

Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Whitefish Bay, their win bumped their record up to 12-16.

Everything went Homestead's way against Whitefish Bay when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Homestead made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Highlanders since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
