Football Recap: Sauvernson Paul Leads Glades Central's Defense on Friday

On Friday Glades Central's undefeated season almost came to an end. They skirted past the Bishop Verot Vikings 14-12. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 32-6 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Glades Central's run defense was locked in: Bishop Verot could only muster 2.5 yards per carry. While three picked up at least ten total tackles, Sauvernson Paul stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks and made ten total tackles. Glades Central's ground attack was stronger, having averaged four.

Glades Central's defense didn't let Austan Cristiaan, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Paul was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten. Another thorn in Bishop Verot's side was Schnaider Pierre, who picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Glades Central's record now sits at 7-0. As for Bishop Verot, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Glades Central will host Sebring at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop Verot, they will venture away from home to take on Gulf Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Macrae Thompson and Javien Altine.
