Softball Recap: Hebron Christian Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Hebron Christian barely beat South Paulding the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Spartans on Friday. The Lions' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Hebron Christian got a great performance from Kate Kennedy as she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Kennedy has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brylee Autry, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Gabby Raysor also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Hebron Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for South Paulding, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Hebron Christian has already played their next matchup (against Houston County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for South Paulding, they will square off against New Manchester at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguar have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.4 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
