Softball Game Preview: Dougherty Trojans vs. Mitchell County Eagles

The Dougherty Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Mitchell County Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Dougherty has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Dougherty fell victim to Atkinson County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 12-0 to the Rebels. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost seven in a row.

Dougherty saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Deriyah Gibbs, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Mitchell County played against Dougherty on Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

Dougherty's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Mitchell County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
