Basketball Recap: Franklin Wildcats vs. Sheldon Huskies
Franklin was the 61-29 winner over Sheldon when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Franklin Wildcats fell 66-55 to the Sheldon Huskies on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 704th, while the Huskies are ranked 305th).

When it comes to explaining why Franklin lost, don't look at Aletha Singleton. Despite the final result, she posted 18 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Singleton has posted since back in February of 2024. Claire Gonzalez was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Sheldon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brooklin Kimmons, who put up 22 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kayloni Knowlton, who had eight points along with 23 rebounds and seven steals.
Franklin's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Sheldon, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Franklin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 48-14 victory against Elk Grove on the 22nd. Sheldon has also already played their next game, a 79-75 loss against Laguna Creek on the 24th.
