Basketball Recap: Mica Mountain Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

On Thursday, the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts were able to grind out a solid win over the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks, taking the game 73-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunderbolts.

Despite the loss, Ironwood Ridge still got an impressive performance from Carter Brown, who posted 27 points and seven rebounds. Brown's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Anderson, who scored 11 points.

Mica Mountain has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Ironwood Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Mica Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-55 defeat against Sahuaro on the 27th. Ironwood Ridge has also already played their next matchup, a 55-52 loss against Walden Grove on the 29th.
