Basketball Recap: Firebaugh Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against McLane last Saturday, Firebaugh came back down to earth. The Firebaugh Eagles fell 34-24 to the Madera South Stallions on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Stallions: they've now lost three in a row.

Madera South can attribute much of their success to MAYRILIN VASQUEZ, who posted 17 points. Those 17 points gave VASQUEZ a new career-high.

Firebaugh's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for Madera South, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Firebaugh won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Le Grand at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Firebaugh's defense has only allowed 27.5 points per game this season, so Le Grand's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Madera South, they are taking a road trip to square off against Chowchilla at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
