Basketball Game Preview: Youngsville Eagles vs. Commodore Perry Panthers

The Youngsville Eagles will challenge the Commodore Perry Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Youngsville comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Youngsville is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Cochranton on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Youngsville was dealt a 63-6 defeat at the hands of Cochranton. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-3.

Meanwhile, Commodore Perry took a blow against Cranberry Area on Tuesday, falling 59-26. The Panthers have struggled against the Berries recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Youngsville will have to keep a close watch on Bella Saxe and Taylor Varner, a pair of players who had a big impact on Commodore Perry's prior game. Saxe posted 13 points, while Varner put up three points.

Youngsville's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Commodore Perry, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Youngsville suffered a grim 46-22 defeat to Commodore Perry in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Youngsville was down 37-10.
