Basketball Game Preview: New Oxford Colonials vs. Northeastern Bobcats

New Oxford hasn't had much luck against Northeastern recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The New Oxford Colonials will be playing at home against the Northeastern Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

New Oxford is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They fell 40-30 to William Penn. While losing is never fun, the Colonials can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while the Bearcats are ranked 239th).

Meanwhile, Northeastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to Red Lion at home by a 46-29 margin.

New Oxford's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Northeastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

New Oxford came up short against Northeastern in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 47-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Northeastern's Nylah Davis, who posted 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Now that New Oxford knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
