Basketball Recap: Salpointe Catholic Picks Up Ninth Straight Win on the Road

Salpointe Catholic had won eight straight road games and Sidney Anderson did her part to make it nine on Friday. The Salpointe Catholic Lancers took their contest with ease, bagging a 67-28 win over the Sahuaro Cougars thanks in part to Anderson, who went 9 of 13 to rack up 25 points. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Allison Even, who posted nine points along with six boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Harmony Twito, who put up 11 points.

Salpointe Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points over those games. As for Sahuaro, their loss dropped their record down to 20-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salpointe Catholic will head out to face off against Walden Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salpointe Catholic is facing Walden Grove at the right time seeing as Walden Grove is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Sahuaro, they will head out on the road to square off against Mica Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mica Mountain will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Sahuaro surely won't give up without a fight.
