Softball Recap: Echols County Falls to Fitzgerald in First Game of Season

Echols County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane on Thursday, falling 12-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 18-13 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Coming up, Echols County will welcome Clinch County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Fitzgerald, they will take on Crisp County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
