Softball Recap: Roosevelt Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Roosevelt dropped to 12-7 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berthoud Spartans. The Roughriders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Roosevelt got a big performance out of Cali Bly, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Lily Wiese, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

As for Berthoud, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games.

On Berthoud's side, Madelyn Kuntz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Kuntz has posted since back in September of 2024. Carys McGuinn was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Roosevelt wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-4 victory against Niwot on the 3rd. As for Berthoud, they have also already played their next game, an 18-1 win against Mountain View on the 6th.
