Baseball Game Preview: Lakeside Panthers vs. Harlem Bulldogs

Lakeside hasn't had much luck against Harlem recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Lakeside Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Harlem Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Lakeside: 3.2, Harlem: 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Lakeside easily dispatched Burke County on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Lakeside fell just short of Harlem by a score of 4-2 on Monday. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lakeside got a good showing from Tyler Malloy, who struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave Malloy a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Josh Lombardo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Harlem, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
