Baseball Game Preview: Jersey Panthers vs. Triad Knights

Jersey is 1-9 against Triad since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Jersey's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Triad's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Jersey didn't have quite enough to beat Jacksonville and fell 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered against the Crimsons since April 27, 2019.

Meanwhile, Triad faced Sacred Heart-Griffin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Cyclones a 10-0 shutout. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Triad has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Jersey, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.

Jersey might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Triad when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
