Baseball Recap: James Monroe Triumphs

James Monroe extended their postseason success on Friday against Westside. They came out on top against the Renegades by a score of 3-0. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Renegades recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Kadyn Hines was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. James Monroe is 3-1 when Hines posts ten or more strikeouts, but 13-14 otherwise. Hines was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Hines wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brycen Parker, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

James Monroe now has a winning record of 16-15. As for Westside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

As of now, neither James Monroe nor Westside have any future games scheduled.
