Soccer Game Preview: Hesperia vs. Apple Valley

Hesperia is 0-10 against Apple Valley since February of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Hesperia Scorpions will head out to face off against the Apple Valley Sun Devils at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

Hesperia headed into their last contest having not scored more than one goal for four straight, but Burroughs let them put that streak behind them. Hesperia never let Burroughs onto the board and left with a 7-0 win on Tuesday. That seven goal margin sets a new team best for the Scorpions this season.

Meanwhile, Apple Valley put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Serrano. Give the Sun Devils' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Hesperia's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12-2. As for Apple Valley, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-0-2.

Hesperia might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Apple Valley when the teams last played on January 13th. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hesperia was down 5-1.
