Soccer Game Preview: Louisville vs. Marymount

Louisville hasn't had much luck against Marymount recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Louisville Royals will head out on the road to face off against the Marymount Sailors at 5:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Louisville is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Chaminade, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 561st, while the Eagles are ranked 191st).

Meanwhile, Marymount has been on a difficult stretch since their win on the fourth. They lost 3-0 to Notre Dame (SO) on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Sailors have lost by exactly three goals.

Louisville's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Marymount, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-3.

Louisville suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Marymount in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Louisville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
