Soccer Game Preview: James Lick vs. Overfelt

The James Lick Comets will challenge the Overfelt Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. James Lick is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season.

Overfelt better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when James Lick really get things going. James Lick never let Yerba Buena onto the board and left with a 4-0 win on Thursday. The Comets better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Leilani Cortez, as she scored every single goal for her team.

Meanwhile, Overfelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Del Mar. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Royals couldn't quite close it out.

James Lick has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6-1 record this season. As for Overfelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-1.

James Lick took their victory against Overfelt in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 3-0. Will James Lick repeat their success, or does Overfelt have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
