Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Leandro). They managed a 57-51 win over the Amador Valley Dons on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

San Leandro found their leader in freshman Amelie Atako, who shot 44% from the field on her way to 15 points and seven steals. Atako is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Sariah Monroe was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

San Leandro's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Amador Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

San Leandro and Menlo-Atherton will round out the year against one another at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Amador Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mt. Eden at 6:30 p.m. on January 8, 2026.
