Baseball Game Preview: Eastside Eagles vs. Flowery Branch Falcons

For the second straight game, Eastside will face off against Flowery Branch. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Eastside Eagles challenge Flowery Branch Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Eastside turned things around against Flowery Branch on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Falcons.

Eastside got a great performance from Levi Pickett as he struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave Pickett a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Peyton Shaw, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalen Stapp, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Flowery Branch moved to 10-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Eastside, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 5-14.
