Volleyball Recap: Ascend Leadership Takes a Loss

Ascend Leadership lost against Clover Garden School back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Aviators lost 3-0 to the Grizzlies. The Aviators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-9, 25-18.

Lola Walls paced Ascend Leadership's offense, picking up five kills. Walls got some help from Ella Canoy and her six assists. Grace Mehall controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Nikole Weed was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had five digs and four aces. Gracelyn Brame also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Ascend Leadership's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Clover Garden School, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Ascend Leadership didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Heritage Leadership Academy on the 18th. As for Clover Garden School, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Southern Wake Academy on the 18th.
