Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Rock Canyon's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Legend, Rock Canyon was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Regis Jesuit Raiders by a score of 15-10. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Jaguars also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Rock Canyon let Avery Cochran and Delaney Mimless run wild. Cochran went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Mimless went 3-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Cochran has posted since back in August. Dakota Dugan was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Rock Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Rock Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Regis Jesuit, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
