Baseball Game Preview: Tioga Indians vs. Ruston Bearcats

The Tioga Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Ruston Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Tioga's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Ruston's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Tioga's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Oakdale.

Meanwhile, everything went Ruston's way against Archbishop Shaw on Saturday as Ruston made off with a 9-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Tioga has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. Ruston now has a winning record of 7-6.

Tioga might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Ruston when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Can Tioga avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
