Baseball Recap: Monroe Township Finds Playoff Glory Versus Montgomery

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Monroe Township walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Montgomery Cougars a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Andre Love got the start for Monroe Township and what a start it was: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Love also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Falcons are 6-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 8-11 otherwise.

Monroe Township is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.
