Softball Recap: Clark County Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Clark County took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against South Shelby, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Indians skirted past the Cardinals 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since October 2, 2024.

Grace Parker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Cabell Palmer was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.

Clark County's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7. As for South Shelby, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Clark County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Shelby, they will head out to challenge Northeast at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bearcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
