Soccer Game Preview: ESAT vs. Academia Avance

ESAT hasn't had much luck against Academia Avance recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The ESAT Grizzlies will look to defend their home pitch against the Academia Avance Guerreros Jaguares at 2:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

ESAT took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Collins Family out 2-1. The Grizzlies found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: Leslie Nieto and Yanira Gutierrez were both handed yellow cards.

Natalie Gaxiola was the driving force of ESAT's attack as she scored both of ESAT's goals, bringing her season total up to seven goals.

Academia Avance played against East College Prep and won via forfeit.

ESAT now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Academia Avance, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8-1.

ESAT might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Academia Avance when the teams last played on Monday. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point ESAT was down 3-0.
