Baseball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Franklin County's Winning Streak

Franklin County dropped down to 14-21 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Frankfort Panthers. The Flyers were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Panthers' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Frankfort, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-14 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games.

For Frankfort's part, Will Beshear made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave Beshear a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

In other batting news, Noah Fox was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Sam Peach was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Franklin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Frankfort, they will take on Great Crossing in a tournament on Tuesday.
