Daylon Gibbs of Cuero Texas High School Football Player of the Week

Senior wide receiver found the end zone three times in win over Giddings last week.

After receiving more than 6,000 votes, Daylon Gibbs of Cuero has earned MaxPreps Texas High School Football Player of the Week.

Gibbs, a senior receiver, reeled in six passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns while also scoring from 40 yards out on his only carry in a 55-14 win over Giddings.

Here are the rest of this week's candidates:

* Bryce Braden, Stratford: Completed 12 of 16 passes for 168 yards and three touchdowns while tacking on 113 yards and two more scores on the ground in a 38-7 win over Farwell. Defensively, the junior linebacker also recorded 20 tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks.



* Jake Fette, Del Valle (El Paso): Sophomore signal caller completed 14 of 18 pass attempts for 371 yards and four touchdowns while scoring twice on the ground in a 63-28 win over Parkland.

* Keven Hernandez, Burbank (San Antonio): Junior completed 12 of 17 pass attempts  for 382 yards and five touchdowns while carrying nine times for 82 yards and two more scores in a 48-13 win over McCollum.

* Damien Johnson, Midland Legacy: Senior running back carried 21 times for 259 yards and three scores in a 63-56 win over Frenship.

* Graham Knowles, Southlake Carroll (Southlake): Georgia Tech commit completed 11 of 15 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns while also scoring on a 21-yard run in a 56-10 win over Keller.

* Braxton Roberts, Panther Creek (Frisco): Senior signal caller completed 21 of 25 passes for 324 yards and six touchdowns in a 48-27 win over Carter.

* Keelon Russell, Duncanville: Completed 10 of 12 passes for 268 yards and three scores in a 44-10 win over Waxahachie.



* Kiefer Sibley, Connally (Waco): The senior running back ran for 286 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries while also catching four passes for 71 yards and a score in a 35-29 win over Gatesville.

* Taylor Tatum, Longview: The Oklahoma commit carried 34 times for 177 yards and a score in a 13-7 win over Forney.
