Baseball Game Preview: Cook Hornets vs. Pierce County Bears

For the second straight game, Cook will face off against Pierce County. The Hornets will head out to face off against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cook's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Pierce County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Cook's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Pierce County hitters got past them. The Hornets came up short against the Bears on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The shutout was out of character for the Hornets seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Pierce County has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cook, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-6.
