Football Recap: Sandia Matadors vs. Volcano Vista Hawks

Sandia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Volcano Vista Hawks, falling 51-13. The Matadors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Sandia's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Volcano Vista, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Sandia will venture away from home to face off against La Cueva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Matadors' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Volcano Vista, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against West Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
