Football Game Preview: Kenedy Lions vs. Mason Punchers + How To Watch

The Kenedy Lions will face off against the Mason Punchers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kenedy comes in on six and Mason on eight.

Kenedy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 19-7 win over Crawford. Those 19 points were actually the fewest the Lions have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kenedy to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Salas, who rushed for 113 yards and two TDs.

Kenedy's run defense was locked in: Crawford could only muster 0.8 yards per carry. While two picked up at least nine total tackles, Dehlay Salas stood above the rest. He made nine total tackles. Kenedy's ground attack was stronger, having averaged four.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Mason against Schulenburg on Friday as the squad secured a 55-14 victory. Considering the Punchers have won eight matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kenedy's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Mason, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Kenedy ended up a good deal behind Mason in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, losing 56-41. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
