Soccer Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

If Kennedy was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cordova last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kennedy Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McClatchy Lions on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Lions are ranked 219th).

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-5. As for McClatchy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4-2 record this season.

Kennedy didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against West Park on the 4th. As for McClatchy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 4-1 victory against Grant on the 4th.
