Softball Game Recap: Mercy Monarchs vs. Blair Bears

Mercy extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 3-9. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 14-0 to the Blair Bears, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Saturday.

As for Blair, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The result was nothing new for Blair, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Blair's part, the team relied heavily on Regan Blattert, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Blattert has posted since back in August of 2024. Laynie Brown was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Coming up, Mercy will welcome Elkhorn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blair, they will face off against Ralston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
