Softball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage couldn't beat Ponderosa on Wednesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the third inning. The Eagles fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 8-6. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Caitlin Chamaty made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Maddie Barbre also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Heritage has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Ponderosa, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-12.

As of now, neither Heritage nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
