Trailblazers, Mater Dei, Marymount, Redondo Union and Mira Costa all battling for Division 1 title.

The Southern Section Division 1 bracket in the high school volleyball hot bed of Southern California has been released and features five teams in the MaxPreps Top 25 with No. 2 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth), No. 3 Mater Dei (Santa Ana), No. 4 Marymount (Los Angeles), No. 11 Redondo Union (Redondo Beach) and No. 21 Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach)

Unlike recent years in which Division 1 included pool play, the section playoffs this season feature a 12-team, single-elimination bracket.

Mira Costa has a Tuesday contest against Newport Harbor (Newport Beach) while the other four ranked teams have byes. The Mustangs would face Marymount in the quarterfinals Oct. 28 with a win.
