Softball Recap: Westminster Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Westminster took on Hebron Christian on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Lions by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 14-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Adelaide Banks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Townsend Post made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate McDonald, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Westminster's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Hebron Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Westminster will venture away from home to face off against Decatur at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hebron Christian, they will challenge Apalachee at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.67 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
