Baseball Game Preview: West Forsyth Wolverines vs. Lambert Longhorns

For the second straight game, West Forsyth will face off against Lambert. The Wolverines will challenge the Longhorns at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Things were looking good for West Forsyth after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lambert. That's two games in a row now that the Wolverines have lost by exactly three runs.

Micah Hardenbrook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, West Forsyth saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Maurer, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Lambert has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for West Forsyth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-14.
