Basketball Recap: Riverdale Takes a Loss

Riverdale lost against Yosemite back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Riverdale Cowboys had to suffer through a 66-27 loss at the hands of the Yosemite Badgers.

Khloey Lloyd was Riverdale's leading scorer, having posted eight points.

Yosemite's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jadyn Johnson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. That's the most points Johnson has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaydynn Ellis, who went 10 for 21 en route to 22 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Yosemite, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-15.

Riverdale will take on Fowler at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale is facing Fowler at the right time seeing as Fowler is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Yosemite, they will square off against Caruthers at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
