Basketball Recap: El Camino Triumphs

El Camino won against Capuchino last Wednesday with 37 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The El Camino Colts snuck past the Terra Nova Tigers with a 37-32 win. For the Colts, this counts as revenge for the 40-38 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Terra Nova's loss came despite strong showings from Reese Kelley and Gabby Dyogi. Kelley posted nine points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Dyogi earned 14 points and six boards. Kelley has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lilyanna Carpenter, who scored a point and 15 rebounds.

El Camino has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Terra Nova, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

El Camino will face off against San Mateo at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Mateo will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something El Camino surely won't give up without a fight. Terra Nova has already played their next contest, a 53-30 victory against Crystal Springs Uplands on the 20th.
