Football Game Preview: St. Pius X Sartans vs. Albuquerque Academy Chargers + How To Watch

The St. Pius X Sartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Albuquerque Academy Chargers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Pius X has four straight wins, Albuquerque Academy has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

St. Pius X's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Friday, when they got past Silver's usually-dominant defense. The Sartans put the hurt on the Fighting Colts with a sharp 34-14 victory. That 20 point margin sets a new team best for the Sartans this season.

Hershul Olloway Jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 241 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Curtis Flakes III got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Albuquerque Academy lost to Chaparral at home by a 35-20 margin last Saturday. The contest marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

St. Pius X will have to keep a close watch on Finn Thompson and Logan Hague, a pair of players who had a big impact on Albuquerque Academy's prior game. Thompson picked up 100 receiving yards and one TD, while Hague picked up 81 receiving yards and one score. Hague got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 61 yards.

St. Pius X's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Albuquerque Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

St. Pius X strolled past Albuquerque Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 35-21. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Chargers' Jett Galles, who picked up 154 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 62 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for the Sartans to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
