There's no place like home for Fullington Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in July. Everything went their way against Twiggs Academy on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Fullington Academy considering their two-run performance the game before.
Brooklin Cromer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Cromer was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Evelyn Fletcher and Rayelee Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Fletcher went 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Johnson went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Fletcher has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Ross, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
The win got Fullington Academy back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fullington Academy will square off against Citizens Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Twiggs Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Robert Toombs Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m.
