Softball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Eaglecrest's 11th in Last 12 Outings

Eaglecrest barely beat Arapahoe the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raptors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 10-0 shutout on Saturday. Considering the Raptors have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Haisley Elliott made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

In other batting news, Sybella Trevino was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Abby Files was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Eaglecrest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Arapahoe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Coincidentally, Eaglecrest and Arapahoe will both be playing Cherry Creek the next time they take the field. The Raptors will host the Bruins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
